In July 2017, I had the opportunity to visit the Isle of Valaam in Russia. According to the Orthodox Church, Saint Andrew came here shortly after Jesus passed on, bringing Christianity with him. He settled on the Isle and built a wooden cross. While the cross has long since been lost, the spirituality of the Isle still lingers.
